PLANS to recognise the environmental heritage of a 2500-year-old tree in Mourquong are now on public exhibition.

Wentworth Shire Council had given notice of a planning proposal to heritage list a eucalyptus oleosa tree at the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens known as the Wow Tree.

The proposal seeks to add the Wow Tree to the Wentworth Local Environmental Plan 2011 environmental heritage list.
