WRITER and RMIT University design professor Paul Carter will speak at the Mildura Writers Festival in July.

Carter comes from the United Kingdom, has lived in Spain and Italy, and derives his material from the "migrant condition".

In several of his books, including The Road to Botany Bay, The Lie of the Land and Meeting Place, he has proposed new forms of cross-cultural communication.
